{"id":555,"date":"2010-05-18T15:54:37","date_gmt":"2010-05-18T22:54:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jennyjones.com\/myblog\/?p=555"},"modified":"2010-05-26T17:00:57","modified_gmt":"2010-05-27T00:00:57","slug":"i-spent-the-day-with-veterans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jennyjones.com\/myblog\/i-spent-the-day-with-veterans\/","title":{"rendered":"I spent the day with veterans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What an experience I had today. \u00a0My stepmom&#8217;s 2nd husband, who&#8217;s a veteran, had to go in for some tests at the veterans center in Los Angeles so I took them both in today. \u00a0We were in the main hospital building and it was not at all what I expected. \u00a0I saw state-of-the-art equipment, efficient nurses and lab technicians, super clean surroundings, and a very friendly staff. We explored the main floor and found a huge food court, a general store that carried everything from bandaids to flat screen TVs &#8211; no sales tax for veterans. There&#8217;s more&#8230; upstairs in a quiet, peaceful corner was a lovely chapel.
